Injuring this character (include limits and severity): Yeah, but keep in mind he's pretty damn hard to injure unless your character is also quite powerful.
Killing this character: It won't be easy. Let's discuss it first.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Telepathy is a go, but reading his thoughts is a hard no unless he lets your character. He is one of the maiar (his world's equivalent of an angel), and even in a human form, his mental strength is formidable, and he is not unused to communicating mind-to-mind or guarding his thoughts from others.
Notes: As mentioned, Gandalf is roughly equivalent to an angel in human form. He has an immensely powerful soul, and for any sensitive to such things, he is very much of the light and goodness. He also has a strong association with fire and is, of course, a powerful wizard - though he uses his powers for both the mundane and the dramatic. Everything from fireworks and shaping smoke to lighting campfires to in the thick of battle! So please expect him to be fairly free with small bits of magic.
